Kalynn Potter, MA, LLPC, MBA
Kalynn received both her Master of Arts degree in counseling and her Master of Business Administration degree from Oakland University. She became a limited licensed professional counselor with the state of Michigan in 2008 and has completed required supervision. Kalynn has additional hours of training in Couples Counseling through the International Center for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). Kalynn works with client’s 12 years of age and older. Her experience lends expertise to relationships; albeit with a spouse, parent, or self. She has in-depth experience with at-risk adolescent/early adulthood clients and a strong focus on clients with substance abuse and/or addictions. She views the whole person; integrating mind, body and soul. She has worked with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, self-injury, grief/loss, eating disorders, and suicidal ideation. Kalynn believes that in removing obstacles created in life individuals and couples are able to attain peace and happiness. Additionally, Kalynn provides career counseling for college students and individuals re-entering or changing jobs.
Kalynn’s passion is to help individuals and couples to help themselves. She is highly empathic and is devoted to the community. Kalynn believes her own personal fulfillment and growth is connected to her work. She was on the Board of Director’s that initiated Disaster Relief at Work (DRAW) and has been a first responder. She was co-chair of the Education Committee for the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce and chaired the Excellence in Education Program. Kalynn has over a decade of experience in Human Resources in the corporate world. She was a Stephen minister for ten years, a volunteer for the Literacy Council of Oakland County and Co-Chair of the Crop Walk for world hunger. She is married with two grown sons. Kalynn is committed to providing counseling that meets the needs of the client.
